myTravel Rocks- Lodz

Here is mostly known by the wide range of students that are living in Lodz. There are several well-known places that are called Piotrkovska, Lords’ street and variety of parks that can really please you. Except for these fascinating factors, I am afraid there is no anymore.

Now I would like to verbalize my feelings while I depict Lodz with my own expressions. My perspective was comparing here with the city in which I am living in now-Krakow.

  1. First of all, anyone who took a journey in Lodz should have observed the roads and streets very large and if we consider the LONGEST STREET IN EUROPE, therefore you can find yourself having a more tiring day if you prefer walking. I would advise to take the bikes which are free for 20 minutes.

  2. Transportation system- I should state that it is completely different here that if you especially do not use any application (Jakdojade is the most helpful one), you can probably confuse the directions. Even with the app itself. The foremost reason for that is the poor explanation of the roads in the bus stops. Buses are also older fashioned and tickets are mostly bought in the bus and more importantly, by the cards. So, definitely be sure to have brought your cards in your purses😊

  3. Bicycles- here is the most preferred and significantly, free of charge for 20 minutes as I mentioned above, and 1 zloty for 1st late hour. AND it is not as complicated to use the application for use as in Krakow, as there is only particular company for these bikes whereas there are so many of them in Krakow. BUT be careful when you choose the bike to ride as they can be older and having some problems. So, take one good looking and enjoy your ride.

  4. Traffic lights- it really takes much more time to be waiting in the each of light, even sometimes it takes more than 3 minutes. So, try to be patient while waiting or take something to be busy with, better not wasting time)

  5. Food- there are more Turkish, Bangladeshi food here and you might find them more delicious comparing them to the national food of Poland. For example: “Zahir kabab” Istanbul doner” “Turkish Mangal” or “Mangal, etc.

  6. People- as Krakow is widely known with its multinational community which includes its local, tourists and students, Lodz is mostly visited by the students who are studying in the University of Lodz. The main problem you can face is fewer people know English. Hence, you will need to need a Translator application)

  7. Shopping- I think this is the main part of the interest, mostly for women. CHEAPER. I can state that I personally found the clothes and mainly shoes much cheaper. Keep in mind that minimum 35 PLN (8 EURO) you can easily find shoes for winter even. And I stress that most of them have good quality. So if you are planning to visit here, do not tend to bring much stuff as you will anyway love the ones in Lodz.
